The Allahabad High Court on 12 May, rejected a BJP leader’s petition, which sought its direction to the ASI (The Archaeological Survey of India) to open the doors of 22 sealed rooms inside the Taj Mahal.
The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday rejected the plea seeking to open 22 locked rooms of the Taj Mahal to ascertain the existence of the Hindu gods’ idols. The petition was filed by Dr. Rajneesh Singh, the in-charge of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s media desk in Ayodhya.
Ahead of the hearing, BJP MP Diya Kumari, on Wednesday claimed that the land on which the Taj Mahal stands belonged to Jaipur ruler Jai Singh.
The PIL was heard by a two-bench of Justices honorable DK Upadhyay & Subhash Vidyarthi, who rebuked the petitioner.
