Tesla’s Elon Musk offers to acquire 100% of Twitter

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission issued Thursday, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals delivered a letter to the firm proposing to buy all outstanding shares of Twitter for $54.20 each.

According to a stock exchange filing, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has filed a hostile takeover bid for Twitter, seeking to buy 100% of the company’s stock and take it private.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, April 13, Musk offered $54.20 per share, a 54 percent premium over the closing price on January 28.
