The Assam Assembly passes seven measures abolishing laws

The Assam Assembly passed up to seven proposals on Thursday that repealed outdated laws.
Without any debate, all of the bills that were introduced in the House the day before were approved by voice vote.
The Assam Evacuee Property (Repealing) Bill, 2022, The Assam Jute (Control of Prices) (Repealing) Bill, The Assam Darrang and Lakhimpur Districts (Assimilation of Laws on State Subjects) (Repealing) Bill, and The Assam Local Authorities Grants (Charged) (Repealing) Bill, all of which were repealed, had original acts that were from the 1950s.Additionally, the 2022 version of "The Public Gambling (Extension to Mizo District) (Repealing) Bill," whose 1962 original act it repealed, was passed.
