The November 4 Twitter layoffs affected a number of the workers who were let go, but nothing was said about the personnel who were still working and dealing with Elon Musk, the company's strict taskmaster. As part of the company's effort to cut its workforce in half, a Twitter manager started vomiting in a trash can after Elon Musk gave him the go-ahead to fire hundreds of workers, the New York Times said.

The source said that the fallout was "excruciating" after interviewing with 36 employees, checking business records, and reviewing chat logs from the workplace. The records also revealed that some of the top executives had been abruptly fired by email, with one engineering manager allegedly "vomiting into a garbage can while others slept in the office as they worked hard schedules to match Mr. Musk's order."

Furthermore, Mr. Musk hinted that the social media network would declare bankruptcy after losing some of its top executives. Credit experts claim that two weeks after buying it for $44 billion, the billionaire told Twitter personnel on a conference call that he couldn't rule out bankruptcy, according to Bloomberg News. The transaction threatened Twitter's financial stability.

Following the resignation of three privacy and compliance officials, the US Federal Trade Commission declared that it was keeping a "close eye" on Twitter and was "very concerned" that the company might be breaking the law.
