Huge row over Tajinder Bagga’s arrest erupts across three states

The Delhi and Haryana Police have retaliated against the Punjab Police’s arrest of BJP leader Tajinder Pal Bagga, amid intense political drama. The Haryana Police prevented a team of cops carrying the 36-year-old leader to Mohali, where he was meant to be brought in court, on Friday afternoon, while the Delhi Police filed a kidnapping case against the Punjab Police.

Bagga was arrested on Friday morning from his West Delhi house in connection with a case filed in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party has accused him of threatening Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The director general of police in Haryana has received a letter and a copy of the FIR detailing the circumstances surrounding Bagga’s detention. The kidnapping accusation has also been dismissed by the Punjab Police.

Bagga’s family, on the other hand, claims that the Delhi Police were unaware of the arrest. The cops from the state run by the AAP’s Bhagwant Mann sat with Bagga at a Delhi police station, according to images posted by news agency ANI.
