Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have yielded positive signals.
In a video address posted on his official Telegram channel, Zelensky said, “The indications we hear from the negotiation platform might be deemed favourable.”
At the same time, according to the Xinhua news agency, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is “conscious of all the risks” and will only trust “concrete outcomes.”
On Tuesday, Ukrainian and Russian delegates met in Istanbul, Turkey, for their fifth round of peace negotiations since Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
Following Tuesday’s talks, David Arakhamia, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, stated that Kiev has proposed establishing a new international convention on security guarantees in an effort to end the war in Ukraine. IANS
