Uttar Pradesh: 22-year-old Rape Victim Dies During Forced Abortion
India’s situation is worse than one would think, despite the fact that women everywhere continue to fight for rights. Four persons, among them a doctor, have been charged in Varanasi with the death of a 22-year-old rape victim who had undergone a forced abortion.
Police identified the criminals as a 28-year-old driver, his companion, a senior administrator of a private hospital, and a doctor.
The woman died on Friday while having a forced abortion, according to Suryakant Tripathi, Superintendent of Police (Rural).
When the victim was staying with her uncle for study purposes, where she is believed to have been raped, the driver was introduced to her, according to the police.
In their testimony, the accused claimed to be giving the woman medicine when, in reality, he was driving her to a private hospital for an abortion after five months of pregnancy.
“She was an undergraduate student who had been in a relationship with the suspect. The victim’s uncle filed a complaint, alleging that the youth sexually assaulted her and caused her to become pregnant “police claimed.
“The woman allegedly left her home on August 12 under the pretence of visiting a cousin who lived in a nearby village, according to the woman’s family. She ran into the suspect en route, and he drove her to a Varanasi private hospital.
Due to complications during the treatment, the accused hurried the victim to a different private hospital in Varanasi. The woman allegedly died while having an abortion at the second hospital, “a senior police officer claimed.
The accused allegedly attempted to conceal the victim’s body but were uncovered. The body was transported for an autopsy after the police were notified.
The officer stated, “The autopsy report revealed that the death occurred due to shock and haemorrhage.”
