Uttarakhand Election Updates: BJP leads with 43 seats with a clear majority according to latest trends

According to electoral commission statistics, the BJP has a 43-seat advantage, which is seven more than the needed majority. The Congress has 23 seats, while the BSP and Independents each have two.
Harish Rawat’s daughter Anupama Rawat is trailing BJP’s Swami Yatishwaranand by nearly 3,000 votes in the Haridwar rural seat. Anukriti Gusain, the daughter-in-law of former minister Harak Singh Rawat, is lagging sitting BJP MLA Daleep Singh Rawat on the Lansdowne seat by almost 1,000 votes. On the Narendranagar seat, however, Congress candidate Om Gopal holds a lead over minister Subodh Unial. By a slim margin, Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal leads BJP minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
While the Congress appears to be losing the state, Harish Rawat, the state’s former chief minister and party’s campaign chairman, is trailing in the Lalkuan seat. Mohan Singh Bisht, the BJP’s nominee, is leading by almost 7,000 votes.
