According to Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya Prestone Tynsong here on Thursday afternoon, the first installment of quarterly salaries for SSA teachers is being processed, and prompt action will be taken to resolve any outstanding dues as soon as possible.
In a statement, Aristotle C. Rymbai, president of the Meghalaya Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan School Association (MSSASA), said: “A second meeting between the MSSASA delegation and the Deputy Chief Minister took place. In order to put a system in place, Deputy CM informed us that the relevant departments (education, planning, and finance) are figuring things out and taking the necessary steps. The state government would also need to enhance the corpus money in order to be able to pay for the payment of the SSA teachers’ salary, which is necessary for the effective implementation of the quarterly system.”
Rymbai stated that the deputy CM had informed the MSSASA delegation that the Meghalaya government had already obtained the authorisation order for the release of the first instalment of the Central Government share and the ad hoc instalment, totalling an amount of Rs 272 crore.
