In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a case was brought against eight persons after a video surfaced of some men smoking hookah and cooking chicken on a boat in the Ganga.
The Prayagraj Police announced on Wednesday that it has booked two identifiable and six unnamed people in the case and would shortly be arresting everyone.
A digital journalist posted a 30-second video of a man smoking a hookah on a boat that went viral on social media. The man was wearing a white shirt.
As the boat drifts down the Ganga in Prayagraj, the camera pans out to reveal kebabs being cooked.
Social media users were outraged by the occurrence and called for the men to face harsh punishment.
One of them questioned the state’s law and order, while others called for the arrest of the suspects by the UP Police and included Yogi Adityanath in their posts.
The police in Uttar Pradesh organised a team and started looking for the alleged culprits.
