Ukraine is facing an invading Russian force that’s much larger than all its armed forces combined.For one Ukrainian man, he’s staying behind to fight, sending his little daughter to the safe zone for civilians in order to be taken to a shelter. Now a tweet shared by Bhavisha Patel shows video of the man bidding farewell to his daughter, tears streaming down both their faces as waves of sadness surge through them.
Russian military forces have reached vicinity of Kyiv, with a battle unfolding for an airbase near the city. Northern region of Kyiv reported sighting of Russian helicopters flying at low altitude.
The Ukraine has been cutoff from the West, with Western warnings of unprecedented sanctions against Russia. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union have condemned Moscow invading Ukraine, and vowed to hold Moscow accountable.
