A batch of 110 stranded Afghan Sikhs and Hindus will arrive Friday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi via a special flight of Kam Air, said Vikramjit Singh Sahney, international president of the World Punjabi Organisation.
Three Sri Guru Granth Sahib from historical Gurduwaras in Afghanistan and Hindu religious scriptures ,including Ramayana ,Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita from the ancient 5th century Asamai Mandir, Kabul are also being brought back on the flight .
The Sikh Holy book will be taken to Gurudwara Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mahavir Nagar and the Hindu religious scriptures to Asamai mandir in Faridabad .
Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the Afghani Sikh and Hindu minorities are being evacuated to India in batches.
India has so far evacuated 565 stranded persons from Afghanistan since August when Kabul fell to the Taliban fighters ,the government stated last week in the Lok Sabha .
MoS external affairs V.Muraleedharan said the MEA is in touch with Indians who are still In Afghanistan .
