Visually impaired woman raped in Delhi by man she asker for help in crossing road

On May 25, a 20-year-old visually challenged woman was allegedly raped by a guy she asked for assistance crossing a road near Sitapuri bus terminal in New Delhi’s Dwarka, according to deputy police commissioner Shankar Choudhary.

According to Choudhary, the woman was supposed to get off a bus at Vikaspuri but instead got off at the Sitapuri stop. “When she begged the locals for assistance crossing the road, the accused led her to a deserted path and raped her.” “After the event, the woman managed to catch the Vikaspuri bus and return home,” he said.

After receiving a report from the hospital where the woman was treated, Choudhary said they filed a case in the incident. He went on to say that the accused was apprehended and placed in judicial custody based on technological proof.

Swati Maliwal, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women, visited with the woman at her office and assured her that she would receive all available assistance.
