As millions of people struggle with the hottest months in years, India’s weather department has issued a severe heatwave warning. People becoming ill and even dying as a result of the excessive heat are making the news. Keeping oneself safe during this time is, of course, a must for everyone. The intense heatwave that is sweeping over the region is also having an impact on children.
A teacher from a primary school in Maldah village, Bihar’s Samastipur district, has made learning how to deal with the hazardous environment enjoyable for his children, and he’s making sure they know everything there is to know about the heatwave. He’s giving some excellent advise on how to deal with it. But he’s doing things a little differently this time, by singing a song about it.
On social media, a video of this teacher, named as Baidyanath Rajak, has gone viral. Two water bottles can be seen dangling from the teacher’s neck. He begins to sing about the current heat wave. On the whiteboard behind him, the word Loo (heatwave) is written in bold in Hindi.
