Over the next 4-5 days, widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Thread West Bengal, and Sikkim due to strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to the northeast and the adjoining east Indian states at lower tropospheric levels.

Thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations are forecast in Assam on May 17 and 18, and heavy rainfall is also expected in isolated locations on May 19 and 20.
