On the day after their colleague Rahul Bhat was shot dead by terrorists inside his office in Kashmir’s Budgam district, 350 government employees in the Kashmir valley, all Kashmiri Pandits, submitted their resignations.
According to reports, the employees wrote Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha a letter stating that they no longer felt safe in Kashmir. These personnel were hired as part of the Prime Minister’s displaced persons program.
On Thursday, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists shot and killed Bhat, 35, at his Tehsil office in Chadoora, Budgam district. Bhat worked as a clerk for the Kashmiri Pandit government in 2010-11 under the special employment package for migrants.
