500 people attended ‘Terahvin’ of Lali who died while saving his owner’s lamb from stray dog

In a strange scenario, a family in Uttar Pradesh held a special “terahvin” in memory of their favourite rooster, who died while defending his owner’s newborn lamb from a stray dog. The Behdaul Kala village in the Pratapgarh district, which is governed by the Fatanpur police station, reported the strange incident.

Lali lost his life sixteen days ago while defending his owner’s lamb from a stray dog. Over 500 people gathered for a ‘terahvin’ to pray for brave Lali’s soul to rest in peace.

Lali’s owner, Dr. Salkram Saroj, claimed that on July 7, the lamb was in his backyard while Lali was keeping an eye on things. “My family heard a noise coming from the rear while they were on the front side of the house. Lali passed away from her wounds on July 8. According to Saroj’s son Abhishek, “We buried him close to the house and conducted the rites that are typically performed after a family member passes away.”

Abhishek continued, “While doing the rites, my father suggested that we conduct terahvin as well. Everyone in the family consented.”
