The crime took place just 100 meters away from Division Number 3 police station when a 20-year-old young man had been struck with a bullet at Benjamin road on Sunday by the four motorcycle-borne assailants over an inter-gang rivalry.
The injured 20-year-old man has been taken to Christian Medical College and Hospital after a bullet pierced the right side of the abdomen of the victim, identified as Kartik Baggan.
After the admission of taking responsibility for the open fire at Kartik which is also recorded in CCTV footage near the area where the crime had taken place. The Division number 3 police have lodged an attempt to murder case against Kalia and his aides Vishal, Kunal Sharma, and Kamal. They also booked Karan Sharma, Nick Oberoi, and Dikhshit Tandon for planning the conspiracy based on the statement of Kartik’s father, Kranti.
The victim himself is also a member of the Puneet Bains gang, who is a notorious criminal facing trial in several criminal cases including dacoity, robbery, murder attempt, and under the Arms Act. Kaila is a friend of Bains’ rival Shubham Arora, also a notorious criminal who is also lodged in the jail in an attempt to murder case.
