In Assam’s Karimganj district, a woman was allegedly killed by her in-laws for giving birth to a girl child in the Bhairabnagar area. In accordance with reports, the woman died after being forced to consume acid by her husband and in-laws. A woman named Sumna Begum has been identified as the deceased. The woman was allegedly subjected to the crime by her husband and her in-laws after she failed to give birth to a boy.
It has been reported that Shakeel Ahmed and his family killed his wife after forcing her to drink acid to give birth to a girl child, which shocked all of the residents in the area. While Shakeel was being held by the Ratabari police, he was arrested by the police.
As a result of the incident, Shakeel Ahmed, the accused husband, was taken into custody by the police. Her condition worsened during treatment at a nearby hospital, where she was rushed immediately.
