A bus carrying pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi shrine caught fire near Katra in Jammu & Kashmir’s Reasi district on Friday, killing at least four people. Another 22 people were injured. The bus was conveying a huge number of pilgrims to Jammu when it caught fire near Nomai, some 3 kilometers from Katra, according to reports. The injured were brought to the hospital, according to officials.

Mukesh Singh, the Jammu zone’s additional director general (ADG), told reporters that an initial investigation found no evidence of the usage of explosives, and that a forensic team was investigating the cause of the fire.
Babila Rakwal, Reasi deputy commissioner, said the explosion was caused by an overheated bus tank.
