A patient fell from a window on the 7th floor of a hospital in Kolkata
According to news outlet PTI, a male patient who left his hospital room and sat on the edge of the seventh floor of the Kolkata building for more than two hours fell and is in severe condition. At the city’s NeuroScience Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for an undisclosed disease, Sujit Adhikary slipped through a crack in a glass window in his ward.
Adhikary was depicted by ANI dangling as he attempted to ascend the skyscraper while witnesses frantically urged him to return inside.
Authorities from the hospital, the police, and the fire department also made an effort to subdue him.
According to reports, after a hydraulic ladder was brought forwards to assist him in descending, he threatened to jump. He apparently stepped up to try and climb down himself later after noticing a big nett being spread below to catch him if he jumped, but he slipped and fell.
According to PTI, he fell at roughly 1 pm and hurt his left hand, ribs, and cranium. Adhikari’s relatives also tried to persuade him to descend, but he was unwilling to listen.
