After two years, Assam's Kaziranga National Park offers an elephant safari to visitors
Gogoi urged visitors to see the renowned one-horned rhinoceros as well as the other creatures that reside in the National Park. Notably, only the two forests of Kahora and Bagri in the National Park were open to tourists for vehicle safari earlier on October 2.
The elephant safari at Kaziranga National Park in Assam resumed on Wednesday after a two-year break caused by the Covid epidemic, sparking excitement among both domestic and foreign visitors.
Public mobility and all kinds of public programmes have been halted at Kaziranga National Park for the past two years. Nevertheless, the elephant safari was formally set to start on November 2 due to this year's relaxation of Covid regulations. Rakesh Kumar Gogoi, an officer with the Kohra and Bagri forest division, gave the annual elephant safari programme its ceremonial opening.
Every day from 5.30 am to 7.30 am, tourists can take two trips to experience the elephant safari.
Gogoi stated: "The elephant safari this year will feature 25 individual elephants in the Bagri forest and 10 departmental elephants in the Kohra jungle. Numerous visitors arrived at Kaziranga on the first day of the opening to take part in the elephant safari, including travellers from Switzerland and America."
