Ajmer man who announced to reward his property to behead Nupur Sharma, arrested

Salman Chisti, an Ajmer resident who on Tuesday made the threat to give away his home and other assets as payment for beheading former BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma in retaliation for her remarks about the Prophet, has now been taken into custody. He is a history-sheeter, as per the police, and it was discovered that he made the video while under the influence of alcohol. Ajmer Dargah cleric Salman Chisti is heard saying in the video, “I vow on my god, mother and children… If someone beheads Nupur Sharma, I would give away their house and possessions.

The latest video was condemned by the office of Ajmer Dargah Dewan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, who stated that the shrine is a site of interfaith cooperation and that the sentiments expressed by the khadim in the film cannot be interpreted as coming from the dargah.

Four individuals have just been detained in connection with another obscene statement that was allegedly made on June 17 near the Ajmer Dargah’s main gate. The arrests were made in response to the Udaipur beheading, in which two Muslim men severed the head of a Hindu tailor in exchange for the tailor’s posting on social media in support of Nupur Sharma. The video that was in circulation at the time was released considerably earlier.
