In launching her brand of maternity clothing, Alia Bhatt claims that she used flowy clothes to “avoid inviting any unwanted belly-touching”
Alia Bhatt has debuted a range of maternity clothing. While looking for pregnancy wear, she considered “raiding” Ranbir Kapoor’s closet.
The actress Alia Bhatt stated on Friday that she has started her own brand of maternity clothing because she felt “overwhelmed” while purchasing clothing for her pregnancy. Alia said on Instagram that she had several concerns when looking for pregnancy wear, including whether or not she should “raid” her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, of his clothing.
Alia also took her followers on a tour of the process she used to create her maternity wear. She claimed that she made shirts that she didn’t have to share with Ranbir and added elastic to her favourite pair of pants. In order to prevent “any unwanted belly touching,” she also wore flowing skirts. With a heart-shaped hands emoji, Alia shared the article.
She wrote, “Two years ago, I started a children’s clothing brand. Everyone asked why I’m doing a kids brand when I don’t have kids. Now, I’m launching my own line of maternity-wear. I don’t think anyone will ask why (smiley face emoticon). But let me tell you anyway. It’s not like I’ve bought maternity clothes before. But when I got down to it, I was overwhelmed.”
She continued, “You don’t know how you’re going to look or feel over the next few months and let’s be honest, not being able to find the right thing to wear can be stressful. Do I buy brands I already wear but in a bigger size? Should I raid Ranbir’s wardrobe? And just because my body is changing doesn’t mean my sense of style has to, right?” “I therefore started adapting my particular style to accommodate bumps. I made my favourite jeans elastic, made shirts I didn’t have to share with my husband, and wore flowy gowns to avoid getting my belly touched unintentionally. Any “airport aesthetics” were put aside in favour of comfort. A whole pregnancy collection evolved from my initial attempt to fill a gap in my existing wardrobe.
