Assam: Covid-19 Positive Prisoner Escaped From Custody
Concerns about the Covid-19 virus are mounting as it is once again popping up in some regions of the nation. On Sunday, a prisoner who was receiving COVID-19 treatment at a hospital in Nagaon, Assam, escaped from custody. Nekibur Rahman has been named as the prisoner. The Haibargaon police detained Rahman in connection with a drug investigation. The prisoner reportedly tested positive for COVID and was subsequently admitted to the hospital’s COVID ward; but, on Sunday night, he reportedly managed to escape.
Similary a prisoner who was being treated for COVID-19 at the Diphu Medical College and Hospital in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district earlier that year managed to escape. The prisoner tested positive and was subsequently admitted to the hospital’s COVID ward.
