Assam Floods: Star Cement donates Rs one crore to Assam CM’s Relief Fund

The top regional cement brand, Star Cement, has contributed Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the ongoing flood relief efforts in Assam. The cement company has also started a distribution effort for food and other necessities in the state’s flood-affected regions.

Star Cement has started a distribution drive of food and other necessities in several flood-affected areas of the state in addition to the donation it made to the Chief Minister’s relief fund. Two trucks of supplies, including rice, beans, salt, biscuits, buns, cookies, and bottled drinking water, have been sent daily by the cement brand to several flood-affected districts.

Tushar Bhajanka, Executive Director of Star Cement, commented on the state’s flood conditions by saying, “In many regions, the people of the state are experiencing unparalleled sufferings, and we are grieved by the same. But when nature unleashes its wrath, we may unite in solidarity and support one another. Star Cement has made every attempt to connect with the community and provide assistance where it is needed.

Pradeep Purohit, Chief Strategy Officer, commented on the effort to provide food and other necessities, saying, “Star Cement has always committed to serving the people of Assam at the times of need. We have started distributing food and other necessities in several flood-affected locations, and we’ll keep doing so until the situation with the floods returns to normal.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the Star Cement Ltd. for its contribution to the Assam CM Relief Fund during such a period of crisis the state is facing.
