Maharashtra: Zika Virus detected In a seven year old girl
The health department reported on Wednesday that a seven-year-old girl was discovered to have the Zika virus in Palghar, Maharashtra. The first patient was discovered earlier, in July 2021 in Pune. The girl is a resident of the Ashramshala in Jhai, Palghar district, according to the health department. In terms of surveillance, vector management, treatment, and health education initiatives, it was said that preventive and control actions were being carried out. The aedes aegypti mosquito is the primary vector for the propagation of the Zika virus, which causes fever, body aches, and conjunctivitis among its characteristic symptoms.
