Assam joins the “Save Soil Movement” as the tenth state, Himanta Biswa and Sadhguru exchange memorandums of understanding
Assam is the tenth Indian state to formally join the Global Movement to Save Soil after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Isha Outreach to conserve soil in the state. On the first day of the Assam government’s three-day Chintan Shivir at Kaziranga in Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, and Sadhguru, the Founder-Save Soil Movement, exchanged memoranda of understanding.
Speaking at the Shivir, Sadhguru advised the state to use its rich natural heritage to create a development strategy that was different from that of other states. Sadhguru asserted, drawing attention to the state’s tourist potential, “The profusion of life surrounding us (Assam) is the biggest investment.
As the years pass, you will see that finding a spot in the globe where people can simply go and listen to natural noises and live calmly will become the biggest attraction in the world.
Sadhguru urged the gatherings to look beyond GDP and concentrate on creating a location where people would desire to dwell in light of the Northeastern population’s movement to other regions of the nation. “Natural ingredients are already present. You can establish a state where everyone wants to reside in four years if you accomplish a few good things in terms of education, tourism, the software sector, and other things that don’t harm the environment.
There is a significant debate between economy and ecology. Such a thing does not exist. The basis of our economy is ecology. The foundation of our entire existence is ecology, according to Sadhguru, who also emphasised the urgent need to protect the soil, which provides 95% of our food.
The Save Soil Policy Handbook, which gives realistic, scientific solutions that governments can implement based on the soil type, latitudinal positions, and agricultural traditions of a given nation, was also provided to the Chief Minister by Sadhguru.
