Assam Makes It To LEADS 2022 Report’s “Achievers Category”

In the “Achievers Category” of the LEADS (Logistics Ease Across Different States) 2022 Report, which was released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, Assam has joined 15 other states and UTs, including Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. However, Assam has received the top ranking in terms of the state’s logistics ecosystem’s operating and regulatory environment, as well as the infrastructure’s quality and dependability.

A nationwide index called LEADS 2022 evaluates and ranks the states of India in terms of the caliber of their logistics. In order to understand the “enablers” and “impediments” to the logistics ecosystem in the nation, the LEADS survey gathers opinions from a variety of users and stakeholders along the logistics value chain (Shippers, Terminal Infrastructure Service Providers, Logistics Service Providers, Transporters, and Government agencies).

Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are the other states in the Achievers category in addition to Assam. The states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Tripura are included in the Fast Movers category.
The index attempts to improve logistics performance across India, which is essential for lowering transaction costs and fostering both local and international trade.
The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) and the National Logistics Policy (NLP) will both be put into effect with the help of LEADS 2022, which will do this by identifying any gaps in the logistics services, infrastructure, and regulatory framework that now exist.
