Assam Medical College suspends two students for ragging
They are prohibited from attending classes for six months as well as academics. They have been expelled from the hostel as well, effective immediately.
Another instance of ragging was observed, there have been complaints of two post-graduate students harassing a junior post-graduate student, which is a significant violation of college standards and policies. Following the tragedy at Dibrugarh University, another horrific ragging incident has taken place at the Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh.
They are accused of intimidating the pupils both physically and mentally. The two offenders have been identified as Dr. Sayan Mukherjee and Dr. Saket Saraf, both orthopedics specialists from Assam Medical College's Dibrugarh batch 2021–22.
The Anti-Ragging Committee's recommendation led to the two students being subject to disciplinary action.
