On Thursday, a young man was tragically killed in Guwahati after being brutally attacked by a mob. The event happened in Fatasil Ambari, and the deceased has been identified as Sunil Sarma. The dead was allegedly ready to enter a home around midnight in the Ada Gudam neighbourhood of Fatasil Ambari. During this time, a man mistakenly believed him to be a thief and attacked him viciously with a knife out of misplaced suspicion.
Sunil was promptly taken to the police station by the police. In the Fatasil Ambari police station, according to accounts, Sunil's condition was deteriorating, but the officers did not transport him to the hospital. As they continued to wait for the next shift, they paid little attention to the deceased's condition.
Sunil was taken to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment as soon as the morning shift police arrived, where the medical staff pronounced him dead. The deceased was unable to survive as a result of the Fatasil Ambari outpost's police officers' carelessness. However, the situation is still under investigation. There has still been no public disclosure of the deceased's details.
There have been numerous instances in the past where mobs have brutally attacked and killed persons on suspicion.
