Assam Seizes 1,000 Kg of "Ganja," Two Arrested

Assan Police detained two people while seizing about 1000 kg of "ganja" in the Biswanath district on Wednesday.

Based on confidential information, a team from the Jinjia police station in the Biswanath district set up Naka checking, stopped a car with the licence plate AS-12AE-1801, and found 1000 kg of marijuana inside.

Two people were detained by the police; they were Surendra Boro and Jolendra Narzary.Policeman Sagar Shah of the Jinjia police station said, "In Biswanath District, police detained two people, Jolendra Narzary and Surendra Boro, and recovered 1000 kg of marijuana. They attempted to flee during the inspection and leaped into a river, but they were discovered."

The police further disclosed that the two suspects intended to distribute the marijuana in the Lakhimpur district's Naraynpur neighbourhood.
