Assam: Several homes destroyed by a massive fire in Maligaon, Guwahati

 At least 10 residences were destroyed by a big fire that broke out in Guwahati on Wednesday. Around twelve in the morning, the incident took place in B G Colony in the Gotanagar neighbourhood of Maligaon. According to sources, there have been no reports of human casualties as of yet. The fire destroyed many lakhs worth of property and turned ten homes to ashes. Locals were informed that the fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen.

On the other hand, firefighters from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) fire station were sent out soon away. The flames were put out, although it took some time for them to be totally contained, sources claim. In addition, the Jalukbari and Maligaon Police showed up without delay.
