The Income Tax Department tweeted, "As per Income-tax Act, 1961, the last deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar is 31.3.2023, for all PAN holders who do not fall under the exempt category, failing which the unlinked PAN shall become inoperative. If you link your Aadhaar card to your PAN card after getting the circular from the Income Tax Department but before doing so, you will be charged a fee of Rs 1000. Additionally, if you don't link your Aadhaar and PAN by March 31, 2023, your PAN card will expire and have no further use.
