Assam: Two minor girls drowned in the Brahmaputra River
On Saturday, two minor girls were drowned in the Brahmaputra river in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar district. According to accounts, the event occurred in South Salmara’s Solia hamlet when three boys and two girls went to bathe in the Brahmaputra river. As they entered the water, all of them perished; however, three boys were saved, while the missing girls have yet to be found.
According to ANI, the rescue and search operation is currently underway, and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), with the assistance of locals, is searching for the missing girls.
“According to the Gram Panchayat president of Solia village, three boys and two minor girls went to bathe in the Brahmaputra river.” Locals saved three lads as they drowned, but two minor females went missing. The SDRF team is now conducting a search and rescue operation with the assistance of locals, but the missing girls have yet to be found,” a police officer stated.
