Maqbool Ahmed Dar is the first artisan from Kashmir valley who made the first carpet with the national flag design in Kashmir, an amazing way to showcase his patriotism, his love for the Nation and to promote his art in such means.

He took three months to complete this masterpiece

In the video, it showed that the Indian national flag has been made on a silk wall hanging by a Kashmiri artisan, Maqbool Dar, in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Maqbool has been weaving carpets for almost 30 years, and the most astounding thing is that 40 of the employees at the carpet weaving unit he runs are women from the community. Maqbool believes that if the government does not intervene to help the artists, the art would die soon.

The Covid-19 outbreak devastated the Kashmir Valley’s carpet business. Maqbool came up with the idea of weaving an Indian flag out of a silk carpet around a year ago; it took him about three months to complete this art piece.
