Two youths were detained on August 12 in a horrifying event for reportedly attempting to rape a mentally disabled woman in Majuli, Assam.
Sanjeev Das and Raj Das have been named as the perpetrators.
In Majuli Dakhinpat Satra, the horrific occurrence took place (Vaishnavism Monastery).
The district police have detained the pair, and a case has been opened against them in accordance with the pertinent laws.

Reports state that the girl went missing after leaving for her tuition class in Lumding, the girl’s body was later discovered in Lumding’s Krishna Basti neighbourhood.

Arjun Chauhan (age 29) has been detained as the suspect.
A 60-year-old male was detained the same day in Noonmati, Guwahati, on suspicion of raping a young girl.
