A stable border situation is a prerequisite for normal India-China relations, according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who also stated that if China upsets the peace and tranquilly in border regions, it will further deteriorate relations.
“We haven’t changed our stance that it will affect our ties if China upsets the tranquilly and calm in border regions.
Our relationship is not normal; it cannot be normal given the abnormality of the border situation “In Bengaluru, EAM S Jaishankar commented on the India-China dispute.
Jaishankar added that the Indian military has been clinging to the ground and that the situation at the border is the main issue.
He continued, “We have made significant progress in withdrawing from areas where we were extremely near to the LOC.
Also commenting about the Belt and Road Initiative, S. Jaishankar said, “There was a violation of our territorial integrity and sovereignty, the fact that third country is doing things on sovereign Indian land occupied by another country.”
The projects under the “so-called CPEC,” which are in Indian land that has been unjustly taken by Pakistan, India firmly and consistently rejects, according to MEA spokesperson Arindam Baghchi.
The official statement further stated that India would see such activities as being intrinsically illegal, illegitimate, and unacceptable.
