Police in Guwahati apprehended a lady and confiscated a counterfeit currency note production machine from her possession on Friday. Usha Barman, a resident of Jyoti Nagar in Bamunimaidam, has been detained. “A CGPD squad from Chandmari PS busted a massive scam when it arrested one Usha Barman after raiding her home in Jyoti Nagar, Bamunimaidam & recovering FICN 21,500 (500 43 Nos) along with a so-called FICN printing equipment,” the Guwahati Police stated on Twitter.
The woman was also seized with fake notes worth Rs 21,500. According to reports, the woman has a beauty salon close to her apartment.
According to the police, a case has been filed against her at the Chandmari police station under the relevant provisions of the IPC.
