"Be Ready To Kill Modi...": Controversial Remark From Congress Leader

Raja Pateria, a senior member of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, sparked a huge uproar with a speech in which he encouraged his audience to "kill" Prime Minister Narendra Modi if they wanted to "save" the Constitution. He instantly emphasizes that he meant "defeating" instead of "killing," but that hasn't really helped. In the midst of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress is experiencing a significant backlash when some BJP leaders demanded the arrest of Mr. Pateria.

A police investigation against Mr. Pateria, a former state minister, has been ordered by the Madhya Pradesh government. It was described as a "unpardonable crime" by a union minister. 

In his widely shared words, Mr. Pateria addresses what looks to be a group of party members and says: "The lives of Dalits, tribal people, and other minorities are in jeopardy because Modi will abolish elections and split society based on religion, caste, and language. Prepare to assassinate Modi if the constitution is to be saved."

The Congress leader asserts later in the same video that the term "murder" in his address signifies failure. He asserted that he adheres to Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence and that, in order to defend minorities, it was imperative to defeat PM Modi in elections.

It is important to note that Congress has not responded to its minister's remark. However, this is not the first time the venerable party leader has criticized Prime Minister Modi in this way.

The video has surfaced from Pawai town in the Panna district. Chief Minister Chouhan claimed that the remarks revealed the "true feeling" of the Congress. "The revered Prime Minister Modi is the object of all of the nation's adoration and faith. People in the Congress can't compete with the PM in the election, and one Congress leader discusses the assassination of the PM.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra has ordered a First Information Report. "Such statements show that today's Congress is not Mahatma Gandhi's Congress. It's the Congress of Italy that is afflicted with a Mussolini mindset," he said.

Raja Pateria's comments towards the Prime Minister was described as "an unpardonable crime" by Union minister Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi. "Raja Patria shouldn't get away with this act, even if he claims to be mentally ill. I kindly want the Madhya Pradesh government to take swift legal action against Raja Pateria "He stated in a video message.
