Ruby Asif Khan, a BJP politician who installed a Lord Ganesh statue at her home in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, despite receiving death threats and a fatwa, she went out nonetheless to properly immerse the idol in Narora Ghat while under strong security.
Along with her spouse Asif, she was accompanied by her two sisters. Since she placed an idol of Lord Ganesh in her home, Ruby Asif Khan has received death threats. However, she claims she is not afraid of the threats or the fatwa. Even a fatwa was issued against her for idol worship.
She stated in an interview with ANI, “I am bringing Lord Ganesh’s statue for immersion at Narora Ghat.
I put the Ganesh idol up at my house on August 31. This fatwa was published following that.
Due to the installation of Lord Ganesh’s statue, maulanas (clerics) claim that I have converted to Hinduism.
It has been threatened that my family will be burned alive and that I will be shunned by Islam.
I get called a Hindu when I’m out. I’ll immerse in the same careful manner as I did when I installed the idol.
She continued by declaring that she is unafraid of the fatwas and that she will keep erecting and worshipping the statue of Lord Ganesh.
