COVID-19: MoHFW releases recommendations for visitors from outside
Additionally, all travellers should self-monitor their health after arriving and should visit the closest medical facility or call the national helpline number (1075) or state helpline number if they have any indicative symptoms. Again, the recommendation has said that post-arrival random testing is not required for children under the age of 12. However, if symptoms of COVID-19 are discovered upon arrival or during the self-monitoring period, they must submit to testing and receive treatment in accordance with established protocol.

The COVID-19 pandemic-related rules for foreign arrivals were released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and periodically revised.
The existing guidelines are being updated in light of the rising trend of Covid-19 cases that have been reported in several regions of the world. According to the MoHFW's recommendations, everyone travelling should preferably be completely immunised against COVID-19 in accordance with their country's primary immunisation schedule.
The released statement further specified that all points of entry, including flights and trips, must make in-flight announcements regarding the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the precautions that must be taken (such as wearing masks wherever possible and maintaining physical distance).Any passenger exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms while travelling must be isolated in accordance with established practise, which calls for the said passenger to wear a mask, be separated from other passengers during the flight or transit, and then be transferred to an isolation centre for further care.
De-boarding should be done after arrival while maintaining physical distance. The health professionals on duty at the point of entrance should perform thermal screening on each and every passenger.
Passengers who exhibit symptoms during screening must be brought to a recognised medical facility right away and segregated in accordance with health procedure.
Additionally, according to the regulations, a subset (2% of the flight's total passengers*) must submit to a random post-arrival test when they arrive at the airport. The concerned airlines will identify these passengers on each journey (preferably from different countries). After submitting the samples, they will be permitted to exit the airport. If these travellers' samples test positive, their samples should be forwarded to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) laboratory network for additional genetic testing.
According to the established standard protocol, they must be handled or separated.Additionally, all travellers should self-monitor their health after arriving and should visit the closest medical facility or call the national helpline number (1075) or state helpline number if they have any indicative symptoms.
Again, the recommendation has said that post-arrival random testing is not required for children under the age of 12. However, if symptoms of COVID-19 are discovered upon arrival or during the self-monitoring period, they must submit to testing and receive treatment in accordance with established protocol.
