A married couple from Delhi’s Geeta Colony area left for a walk in the early morning at 6:30 am on Sunday, August 29. The couple were hit by a speeding vehicle and were immediate taken to the nearby hospital after the accident took place.
The police received a call at 6:45 a.m. regarding the accident. They immediately took action and reach the hospital. “The man Hiralal was declared dead by the hospital and his wife is in critical condition,” said an officer. The elderly man’s body has been sent for postmortem.
The officer also said that a negligence and rash driving case has been filed against the driver. The police will soon be further investigating into the matter. A video of the accident from the closed-circuit television showed a speeding four wheeler hitting over the couple.
