Delhi Police conducts more searches, empties pond to find Shraddha's head

On Sunday, the Delhi Police conducted more searches throughout the city, including in the Chhattarpur forest and the neighbourhood where Aaftab Amin Poonawala, the suspect in the murder of Shraddha Walkar, formerly resided. In the vicinity of Maidan Garhi, the police started looking for the victim's head in a pond. Aaftab reportedly admitted to throwing his girlfriend's severed head into the pond to the investigators.

A Mehrauli pond's water has been drained by a group of Delhi Police officials and employees from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

As Walkar's custody remand ends on Tuesday, the police have intensified their searches in Mehrauli and at Poonawala's apartment in an effort to find the last pieces of deceased body and the murder weapon.

Official reports state that a Delhi Police squad is also conducting searches in the Gurgaon forest regions close to the workplace where Poonawala previously worked. According to police officials, a different squad went to their apartment to gather evidence as part of the continuing investigation.
