DRDO And Indian Navy Successfully Flight-Test Missile VL-SRSAM
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Navy effectively tried and tested the Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha on Tuesday.
The flight test was done from an Indian Naval Ship against a rapid automated target for the demo.
The missiles was able to capture the objective accurately. It has indigenious Radio Frequency (RF) seeker that was able to do so. The VL-SRSAM framework has been designed and created by the DRDO.
During the test launch, the flight path and the performing parameter of the vechicle were monitored by using flight data and captured by using instruments such as Radar, Electro-optical tracking system (EOTS) and Telemetry systems deployed by ITR, Chandipur.
The launch of the missile was checked by senior researchers and scientist from DRDO labs who were engaged with the development of the framework, for example, Defense Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Research Center Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad and R&D Engineers, Pune.
