Elon Musk responds to the question of whether Donald Trump would return to Twitter

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who recently purchased Twitter, took to the microblogging site on Monday to address the subject of whether Donald Trump will be allowed back on the social media website.

"If I had a $1 for every time someone asked me if Trump is coming back on this platform, Twitter would be minting money!" said the new Twitter CEO.

According to the New York Post, Musk began cleaning house after acquiring Twitter in a USD 44 billion acquisition last week by removing its senior executives.

He fired several Twitter executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal and Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's veteran head of law, policy, and trust, who was in charge of major account decisions such as suspending Trump.

According to the entrepreneur, the social media platform will "create a content moderation council with vastly divergent opinions." That means suspended accounts, such as Trump's, will not be restored to Twitter right once.

Musk, who describes himself as a "free speech absolutist," had promised to reactivate Trump's account in the weeks and months preceding up to his acquisition.

The New York Post claimed that the Wall Street Journal said that some prominent brands were planning to cut connections with Twitter if Musk followed through on his threat to reinstate Trump.

According to the New York Post, Musk, who appears to be concerned about what an advertiser exodus might mean for his company's bottom line, attempted to reassure nervous Madison Avenue last week by pledging that he would not allow Twitter to devolve into a "free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences!" In addition to following the law, our platform must be open and welcoming to everybody."

Following the events in the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, Trump was barred from using Twitter, his usual manner of communication with the public. Since then, the former President of the United States has been active on his own social networking programme, Truth Social.
