Finally, on Thursday, the Tata company took control of Air India from the government. “We are delighted to welcome Air India back to the Tata group, and we are dedicated to making this a world-class airline,” said Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
Prior to the official handover, Mr. Chandrasekaran met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Today, Air India’s strategic disinvestment deal was completed effectively, with M/s Talace Pvt Ltd receiving 100% ownership of the company and management control. Air India has a new Board of Directors, helmed by the Strategic Partner “Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), said.
Air India was sold to Talace Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata group’s holding firm, for Rs 18,000 crore in October of last year.
