It is generally considered a male occupation to work at an auto repair shop. Generally, you don’t see women repairing tyres. There is, however, one woman who is challenging that. Despite residing in a remote village in Bhadradri Kothagudem, this 31-year-old woman has proven that women can do anything with determination, willpower, hard work and commitment.
Telangana’s Yedalapally Adilaxmi resides in a secluded area near Bhadradri Kothagudem. She has demonstrated that with perseverance and willpower, women can accomplish any task. The woman works at a small garage in Sujatha Nagar, near Kothagudem, where she fixes flat tyres on automobiles, tractors, and even lorries.
She is the mother of two children and assists her husband, Bhadram, with the operation of the auto repair shop. In the previous five years, she has honed her skills in mending punctures and replacing tyres.
People who came to the shop were reportedly hesitant at first because they did not trust a woman could change flat tyres. They were taken aback to witness a woman carrying the big tyres and performing tasks that are normally performed by men. She improved her skills by watching her husband fix the flat tyres. She used to become exhausted after patching four punctures every day at first. She is now capable of undertaking a wide range of tasks.
She feels that there is no job that women are incapable of performing. “All that is required is optimistic thinking and bravery. This should be viewed as a challenge. I believe that some ladies are capable of much more than I am “she stated
Meanwhile, many young females were inspired by her zeal and dedication to her profession. Kavitha, the daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, invited her to Hyderabad last year and praised her for her tenacity and the amount of effort she has put in to assist her family. She was also given a tyre changing machine by Kavitha.
