The price of petrol and diesel was raised for the fourth time in a week on Saturday. The increase in fuel prices takes effect at 6 a.m. on Saturday. Petrol costs Rs 98.61 per litre in Delhi, and diesel costs Rs 89.87 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol and diesel costs Rs 113.35 and Rs 97.55 per litre, respectively, an increase of 84 paise and 85 paise.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday earlier this week, fuel prices increased. Every time, the rates were increased by 80 pence per litre.
Nirmala Sitharaman, facing criticism, said on Friday that fuel prices are rising owing to supply chain interruptions caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
