Happy International Nurses Day: The birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale

Today is Florence Nightingale's birthday( 1820-1910) also celebrated as International Nurse day. It is observed on May 12 to remember and honor their selflessness commitment and dedication to saving precious lives across the world, and to offer gratitude to the remarkable contributions of nurses to protect lives and keep communities healthy.

The reason behind the celebration of International Nurses Day was to celebrate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale the founder of modern nursing and her pioneering work in nursing and social reforms. During the Crimean War (1854-1856), she volunteered to be appointed as a nurse to serve wounded soldiers.

The entire universe celebrates this day as an acknowledgment to the nurses for their tremendous amount of dedication, specifically during pandemic times when growing cases of covid-19 threatened the world but doctors and nurses stand still and fight back against the situation and still doing so, and lend their best to treat the sick people, not just covid-19 but focused on the everyday cases of health care and our well being. For their benevolence profession, this day has been observed especially for the nurses to cherish and pay respect to them.
